MY Amnesia Phobia - Theatre Mine

  • Zaans Toneelhuis 2 Cornelis van Uitgeeststraat Zaandam, NH, 1508 EH Netherlands (map)

Amnesia Phobia by Theatre Mine in collaboration with The Engine Block/Cat on Bacon.

For seven young theater talents, this school year began well when they were invited to play in this special production. Titled Amnesia Phobia, it is rehearsed and played by the professional theater company Kat op Spek less than five hundred meters from the Zaans Toneelhuis, home of Theatermijn. These are the first steps in the collaboration of Theatermijn and the Motor Block in which young talent is given the opportunity to be inspired by professional theater and vice versa. They visit rehearsals, try-outs and of course the final performance, but also receive workshops from the professionals to take their own play a step further.

Amnesiaphobia has become a performance in which the players connect to the theme of forgetting with the research question: are you still yourself when your memories have faded? A personal performance not to forget....

ORDER CARDS

The youngsters stood out in the previous school year during SHINE!, the theater talent project with three secondary schools (Bertrand Russell College, Blaise Pascal College and Zaanlands Lyceum). In it, students at school are given the opportunity throughout their school years to discover theater and develop further in it. The icing on the cake, of course, is that they get to create a production independent of their school, along with other standouts, and get to work with the professional theater makers.
