Drama group Rhetorica plays A MEOW after Chekhov
"A beautiful young girl lives by a lake. She loves the lake and the seagull, and she is happy and as free as a bird. Then a man passes by, who, having nothing better to do, destroys her. Like someone once destroyed that seagull."
Anton Chekhov wrote The Seagull in 1896 and called it a (tragi)comedy. Toneelgroep Rhetorica is creating a contemporary play, set on one of our Wadden Islands. Ten characters yearn for happiness, for love, for success and for reach on their cell phones.
