We Celebrate Freedom – Saturday, July 4, 2026
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, we will be hosting the event “We Celebrate Freedom” at the Zaans Cultuurhuis. From 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we’ll have a varied program centered on community, culture, music, and freedom. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of performances, workshops, and presentations. Theatermijn will perform the play “If I Were a Bird, ” created especially for the Vrijheid Festival. In addition, the NAKS Kinder Koto Group will present a special performance that brings together culture and tradition.
Music lovers can take part in an inspiring djembe workshop, followed by a performance by Victor Sams. There will also be a demonstration on wearing headscarves by Pauline Tijm, during which visitors will learn more about the different meanings and styles of headscarves across various cultures.
Young talent will take the stage during a rap and spoken-word performance by local youth. Throughout the day, a DJ will provide music, and the band New Forma will bring the program to a festive close.
The event will take place at the Zaans Cultuurhuis, located at Cornelis van Uitgeeststraat 2, 1508 EH Zaandam.
Admission is free. Drinks are available at the bar. A €5contribution in cashis requestedfor the buffet.
