UNDER WATER is a powerful theater performance, based on a true story, about mental disorder and recovery. We follow Rosa, an enthusiastic nurse who is used to caring for others—until she herself loses control.
With powerful images and raw honesty, the performance delves into an inner world that often remains invisible to outsiders. How does it feel when your thoughts overwhelm you and you slowly sink beneath the surface? What does it mean to need help when you were always the one helping others? And how do you find the strength to return to the surface?
ONDER WATER makes it possible to empathize with what is difficult to explain — and opens up the conversation. The performance is in line with the mission of Stichting Doodgewoon, which is wholeheartedly committed to breaking taboos surrounding mental health.
