In 2026, Theater Group Rhetorica will celebrate its 125th anniversary. It will be ayear of celebration!
We will kick off with a performance at the Zaans Cultuur Huis.  

Rhetorica v.s. Rhetorica.
Two one-act plays, ten actors, two directors. An exciting performance with only winners!  

 Tom Hofland's Russophobe.
"They're so sour, those Russians. It's because of all that sour cream they eat. They smear it on everything, between or underneath. Those people are 70% water and 30% crème fraîche, you know?"  

The Russophobe is an unrelenting political farce complete with fur hats, stick-on mustaches, pickles, and a finale featuring a traditional dance. A modern laugh-out-loud comedy that is not to be missed!

 Everyone grieves in their own way. But there is a kind of lower limit. And Mom is falling below it. 

 John van Bemmelen wrote a family drama set at a funeral. Father lies behind the curtain in the coffin, but will everyone come to say goodbye? A performance with lots of humor, poignant dialogues, and unexpected plot twists.  

 Cast: Femke Hagemeijer, Eva Smit, Diederik Benen, Geert van Bemmelen, and Bob Leguijt.

Every month there is a performance including dinner. Dine with each other, your fellow citizens, and sometimes even the creators of the performance. Together with the Social NEIGHBORHOOD team and volunteers, we provide a delicious meal for everyone for a contribution of five euros.
The dinner starts half an hour after the performance (around 5:30 p.m.).
