Terms and Conditions

1. General

1.1 These terms and conditions apply to any visit to the Zaans Cultuurhuis, located at Cornelis van Uitgeeststraat 2, 1508 EH Zaandam, and to any agreement whereby the Zaans Cultuurhuis (hereinafter: the Theater) issues an admission ticket for a performance, event or activity.
1.2 By purchasing an admission ticket or entering the building, the visitor(hereinafter: the Visitor) declares that he/she agrees to these terms and conditions.
1.3 The Theater will make every effort to ensure that the visit is as pleasant, safe and well-organized as possible and to keep any nuisance to a minimum. Suggestions from visitors are welcome.

2. Tickets and access

2.1 All information, programs and prices are compiled with care, but errors or changes are reserved.
2.2 A ticket is valid only for the performance, date and time indicated.
2.3 No refund will be made in the event of loss or theft of a ticket. Tickets cannot be exchanged or cancelled by the visitor.
2.4 If a visitor does not use the ticket, the amount paid remains due.
2.5 Tickets may not be resold or offered for commercial purposes. If misused, the Theater may refuse admission without refund.
2.6 Visitors must show their ticket to Theater staff upon request.
2.7 Digital tickets (e-tickets) have the same validity as paper tickets.

3. Cancellation and relocation

3.1 If a show or event is cancelled by the theater or the organizing party, the visitor will receive a full refund of the ticket price.
3.2 If a show is rescheduled, the ticket remains valid for the new date. If the visitor is unable to attend on that date, a refund may be requested within two weeks of announcement.
3.3 If the event cannot take place due to force majeure (such as illness of performers, fire, power outages, pandemics, governmental measures or other circumstances beyond the Theater's control), the Theater will attempt to reschedule the event. If this is not possible, refunds will be made in accordance with Article 3.1.
3.4 No refunds will be made if the visitor is unable to attend.

4. Behavior and safety

4.1 Visitors must behave respectfully toward staff, performers and other visitors. Discriminatory, aggressive or disruptive behavior may result in removal from the building without a refund of the ticket price.
4.2 Smoking is not permitted in the building, except in designated outdoor areas.
4.3 It is not permitted to take photographs, video, sound or other recordings of performances without the Theater's permission. Phones and other devices must be switched off or switched off during the performance.
4.4 The theater reserves the right to make or have made visual and/or sound recordings of performances. By entering the building, visitors agree that their images may appear in such recordings.
4.5 It is not permitted to bring food, drink, (domestic) animals or dangerous objects into the auditoriums.

5. Liability

5.1 Entering the building and attending a show is at the visitor's own risk.
5.2 The theater is not liable for damage, loss or theft of personal property.
5.3 The theater is not liable for damage caused by third parties, including performers, tenants or other visitors.
5.4 The theater is not liable for nuisances, changes in programs, disruptions or other circumstances that cannot reasonably be attributed to it.

6. Complaints and contact

6.1 Complaints about the performance of an agreement should be reported within eight days of the event in question via info@zaanscultuurhuis.nl or via the contact form on the website.
6.2 The Theater will respond within a reasonable period and will endeavor to find an appropriate solution.

7. Privacy

7.1 The Theater processes visitors' personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).
7.2 Personal data are used exclusively for ticket sales, communication about the show and compliance with legal obligations.
7.3 Data will not be provided to third parties, except where necessary for the performance of the agreement (e.g. to the performing company).

8. Applicable law

8.1 These terms and conditions and all agreements between the visitor and the Theater are governed by Dutch law.
8.2 Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the district of North Holland.
8.3 These terms and conditions have been established by Stichting Zaans Cultuurhuis and apply from January 1, 2025. The most current version can always be found at www.zaanscultuurhuis.nl.
