An interactive art installation, workshop & theater performance.

One week a year, the entire Zaans Cultuurhuis is transformed into an interactive winter world where children can marvel at art and this time the urban environment. With various artists, we remodel the entire building so that, while stimulating the imagination, we make the children more aware of the world they live in. Previous editions were Winter Forest and Ice Sea, in 2025 Winter City.

Several artists have been inspired by (life in) the city. There is room to grow but just below the towering apartment buildings you feel smaller than ever. A jumble of human lives run across the streets through which you must find your way. At night the lampposts, neon signs and car lights paint a colorful scene to wander around in.

Attendance at the Wondrous Winter City and Atelier is free.
Tickets for the performance are 5.00 child & 7.50 adults.
