DIDF Conference: How Can We Strengthen Social Cohesion?

  • Zaans Culture House 2 Cornelis van Uitgeeststraat Zaandam, NH, 1508 EH Netherlands (map)

Dutch society faces significant challenges in the areas of social cohesion, mutual understanding, and participation. Different groups in society seem to be growing increasingly disconnected from one another, while prejudice and social tensions can put a strain on their relationships.

As a historic industrial city, Zaanstad holds special significance. Generations of residents, from diverse backgrounds and cultures, have contributed together to the city’s development. It is precisely this rich diversity that offers opportunities to better understand one another and work together to build an inclusive future.

During this conference, we will engage in dialogue with experts, policymakers, civil society organizations, and residents to discuss how we can strengthen social cohesion. The focus will be on how we can promote interaction, engagement, and solidarity within our neighborhoods and communities.

We cordially invite you to share your ideas and participate in this important meeting.
