Gazi has been actively involved with DIDF for more than 43 years, both in Zaanstad and nationally. As the father of two children, he is committed to equality, cooperation and social justice. DIDF's main goal is to promote the integration of the Turkish-Dutch community.
Anita was born in Suriname, has been in the Netherlands since the 1980s - and has been the driving force behind the Indian Lights Foundation for 25 years. Passionate about women's empowerment, education for children and making Indian culture visible in the Zaan region, Anita brings people together.
Peggy enjoys working with children and young people - learning as well as creating. Through workshops, the Surinamese school brings the rich Surinamese culture to life in the Zaans Cultuurhuis: music, dance, stories, fashion and, of course, cuisine.
From India to Zaandam - Ranjitha wants to be a connector between artists and culturally interested people in the Zaans Cultuurhuis. India is more than food and Bollywood - it is dance, music, stories and connection.
