Petrykivka Workshop

Petrykivka (pronounced: Pet-rie-kiew-ka) is a very special and centuries-old painting tradition from Ukraine. A long time ago, people there painted the walls of their homes and their wooden objects with the most beautiful patterns. And guess what? Back then, the artists made their brushes out of... cat hair! They also made their own paint from crushed berries and plants.

What are we going to do?
During this workshop, you’ll become a true Ukrainian folk artist. We’ll be working on:

• Vibrant colors such as fiery red, sunny yellow, and deep blue.

• Painting secret symbols: Did you know that flowers and berries bring good luck and good health?

• Your very own little work of art to take home!

You don't need any painting experience—just a healthy dose of creativity and a desire to enjoy a fun afternoon. Go ahead and put on your apron and come paint with us!
